I am trying to trace the date and place of birth of John Jones, stone mason, of Pen yn Dre, Llanrwst - my greatgrandfather. He was married to Margaret Jones, nee Owen. John and Margaret Jones registered the birth of their son, William John Jones, my grandfather, at Llanrwst registry. He was born 15/2/1867.William John had moved to Penshaw Nr Sunderland by 1911. However, before moving from Llanrwst to Sunderland, he was married to a Mary Jones, born Portmadog in 1871. They lived at 6 Watling St, York Terr., Llanrwst at 1901 and had a son, Thomas, born1895.William John was a miner. There were three lodgers in the house by the name of McKean and also a lodger called Roberts and one called Mckay. After 1901,William John Jones had two more children born locally. I think he lost his first wife. He brought all three children with him from Llanrwst to Penshaw where he remarried. Please can anyone help me trace the parents of my greatgrandfather or indeed my greatgrandmother? I get timed out on searches as the surname is Jones and I have insufficient data to put into an effective trace. Any information would be gratefully received. Val Metcalf, nee Jones
