Neagle Monday, 02 August 2010
I am looking for Mary Jane NEAGLE, born at Salford Barracks, Lancaster, England on 8 October 1854. At that time, her father, John Neagle was a private in the 51st Regiment of Foot stationed at Salford Barracks. I cannot track Mary Jane further than the 1861 England Census for Jersey, Channel Islands, so conclude she emigrated somewhere. Also on the 1861 Jersey Census appeared her mother (Jane Neagle nee Walsh aged 36, now a widow), and son James aged about 10. I know James's history,as he was my late husband's ancestor and migrated to Australia with his second wife and children. I would appreciate it if anyone knows the further history of Jane, John and/or Mary Jane.

Any Neagles in Jersey - can you send me your family tree. I am researching James Neagle b 1853 in Ireland, married Mary Cory in Jersey. After her death later married Harriet Hine in Guernsey and later sailed for Australia. I note from the telephone book there are still Neagles in Jersey and wonder if there is a connection to James.
