Fitzsimmons Thursday, 25 March 2010
Looking for information on Hugh Fitzsimmons born supposedly in Ireland around 1817-1835. He was married to a Catherine Smith and they lived in Scotland mainly around the Airdrie/Lanarkshire and later the Cumbernauld/Dumbartonshire areas. Hugh was a coal miner They had at least six of a family His wife Catherine Smith died in 1907 in Condorrat,Cumbernauld. Her death certificate states that she was a widow at the time of her death although this may not be true as I can find no trace of Hugh's death before this date. In fact the nearest I have come to his death certificate is one for a Hugh Fitzsimmons who died from senile decay in Greenock in 1921. This states he was married to a Catherine Smith also. But whether this is the same family I am not sure. Any Help or thoughts would be much appreciated.
