Payne Wednesday, 01 September 2010
Am looking for relatives of DAPHNE HILDA PAYNE. She was born in September 1924 and resided on Manor Road in Merstham, County of Surrey. During WW2 she and her sister, Edith, married 2 Canadian servicemen in St. Katherine's Cathedral on Feb. 28, 1942. Daphne married Benjamin Franklin Baird and they had 1 daughter, Patricia Ann Baird born Feb 23, 1943. Daphne was the daughter of Frederick Payne and Edith Maude Humphrey. I am also a daughter of Benjamin Franklin Baird who returned, alone, to Canada. Patricia is my half-sister but we have never met. She remained in England with her mother, Daphne, while I was born and raised in Canada. I have been trying for about 39 years to find Patricia. I finally found a post from her about a month ago on the web site called Genes Reunited. It was exciting to find out that she was also looking for her father's relatives but disappointing to discover the message was from 2007! Since then I have been trying to find a way to contact her but so far have been unsuccessful. I believe she currently goes by Patricia Holmes. Any information or suggestions would be appreciated!!

Hovenden Monday, 30 August 2010
When I was at school (Charterhouse, 1968-1972) I used to go out with an 'elderly' couple, brother and sister who share my surname: Phyllis and Graham Hovenden. They will be dead now, but I would love to find out how they were related to me. My mother Violet Hovenden was the only point of contact and she is now dead.
