Thomas Lennox Seaton, born in Douglas, Isle of Man around 1864 but it could have been 10 years earlier.
He was a Chief Petty Officer in the RN (ship unknown), He had a distinguished Military career, serving with his Majesty's forces in the Zulu war in Ashanti and in the bombardment of Alexandria, as well as other engagements.
Amongst many decorations that he received was the Egyptian Star, 1882 & a South Africa General service medal & bar 1879.
He immigrated to Australia (no records found) & married Florence Annie McCoombe in 1899 in Cairns Qld. They had 4 sons, Bruce, Doug, Alex & Clarence & 2 daughters, Mona & Grace. They are all deceased.
He was a Nuisance / Health inspector for the Cairns City Council from 1900 till his death in 1933. He has 3 surviving Granddaughters, Hazel, Maureen & Robin. |
