George Nixon Smith born abt 1822, surposedly to a policeman father in Dublin Ireland. Migrated to Australia abt 1851. He became a Policeman in Adelaide Australia 1852. Married 1855 to Nancey Anne Cheney. Was set upon to be murdered in oct 1865 and died of wounds a week later. All because he was a policeman in the colony. Family tale is his father drowned, mother married a Amerrican and went to America to live. unknown where she married, (ireland, Australia or America) Looking for Georges birth so as to find his parents to continue the chase. I believe St Thomas in Dublin, but no real proof. George is my great great grandfather.
