My wifes aunt -gladys magdalene sheppard, emigrated to the usa between 1945 and 1960. Before emigrating she worked as housekeeper to the actor james mason, when he resided in ramsgate kent england.[we think she emigrated around the same time as he moved to the usa, to work for him we think]We had contact briefly in the late 70's early 80's then we heard she passed away. It would be lovely for my wife to find out if she has any living relatives in the usa.

Dick Thursday, 22 July 2010
Margaret Dick (nee Keay), born , worked as a Housemaid in a Perth hotel in 1901. Married to James Dick (of Auchtermuchty) in Perth, 1904. He went out to New York in 1909, where he knew a friend in Philadelphia. By April 1910, he was in a lodging house in Kingsbury, working as a Moulder in a machine shop. Margaret followed him to 21 School Street, Hudson Falls in September 1910 (travelling from Glasgow to New York on the S.S. Caledonia). What happened to James Dick? Did he die? Did they have children? Maggie remained in the US till 1917, when she returned to Scotland for a while. Margaret spent some time living in Comrie, Perthshire where she was a Housekeeper. She was with her mother (Mary Keay, nee Innes) in Dalginross, Comrie when she died in the October 1923. When she returned to the Binghampton area (New York) on the S.S. Cameronia in 1926, intending to live in the US permanently, she was listed as a Widow.
